Rabbits are crepuscular, meaning they are most active during the twilight hours of dawn and dusk, a trait stemming from their ancestral need to avoid predators. Thus, one might find their rabbit bounding with energy when all is still outside, challenging the owner's expectations of a cuddly daytime companion.

With over 300 species of rabbits across the globe, their behaviors offer a window into adaptive survival strategies, revealing that even the most endearing habits are rooted in the enormous complexities of biology. The rabbit's ability to thrive in diverse environments speaks to a resilience that can be summarized by a simple statistic: in the wild, a rabbit's lifespan averages three to five years, a reminder of both its fragility and its remarkable adaptability in the dance of life.
