adult,%20it%20may%20have%20limited%20vision,%20complete%20blindness,%20or%20it%20may%20be%20having%20occasional%20seizures.%20Your%20veterinarian%20will%20order%20a%20chemical%20blood%20profile,%20a%20complete%20blood%20count%20and%20a%20urinalysis%20to%20see%20which%20organs%20are%20being%20most%20affected%20by%20the%20parasitic%20infection.%20The%20infectious%20spores%20can%20be%20seen%20in%20urine%20that%20has%20been%20stained%20to%20make%20the%20spores%20visible%20under%20a%20microscope.%20Treatment%20Many%20cats%20will%20completely%20recover%20by%20themselves%20if%20the%20infection%20has%20not%20progressed%20to%20severe%20kidney%20or%20brain%20disease.%20Supportive%20therapy%20can%20be%20used%20along%20with%20a%20fungicidal%20drug%20until%20the%20infection%20has%20cleared%20from%20the%20body.%20If%20your%20cat%20has%20severe%20brain%20or%20kidney%20disease%20it%20may%20need%20to%20be%20euthanized.%20Living%20and%20Management%20Avoid%20all%20urine%20from%20a%20cat%20that%20is%20sick%20with%20this%20disease.%20If%20possible,%20you%20might%20want%20to%20opt%20to%20keep%20your%20cat%20at%20the%20veterinary%20clinic%20until%20its%20urine%20is%20no%20longer%20infectious.%20If%20you%20do%20keep%20your%20cat%20at%20home,%20make%20sure%20to%20keep%20it%20in%20an%20enclosed%20area%20on%20a%20slick,%20easy%20to%20sanitize%20surface.%20This%20will%20allow%20you%20to%20pour%20the%2070%20percent%20ethanol%20solution%20over%20your%20cat's%20urine%20to%20kill%20the%20spores%20(should%20it%20get%20on%20the%20floor).%20Disposable%20litter%20pans%20and%5C/or%20disposable%20litter%20pan%20liners%20can%20be%20used%20to%20minimize%20reinfection,%20and%20disposable%20floor%20coverings%20and%20blankets%5C/sheets%20may%20be%20used%20to%20help%20make%20cleanup%20more%20thorough.%20Immune-compromised%20people%20are%20most%20at%20risk%20for%20catching%20this%20disease%20from%20their%20pets,%20so%20if%20at%20all%20possible,%20these%20people%20should%20have%20someone%20else%20to%20take%20care%20of%20their%20cats%20until%20they%20are%20no%20longer%20infectious,%20or%20take%20all%20necessary%20precautions%20to%20protect%20themselves%20while%20caring%20for%20their%20cats%20(e.g.,%20face%20masks,%20disposable%20gloves).%22%7D){kind=logo}
