    Soma Basu is a Delhi-based senior journalist who has spent more than three decades in the field. She started her career with The Hindu’s political bureau in Delhi and shifted to feature writing 15 years ago, heading the Metroplus Lifestyle supplement in Madurai. She wrote 100 articles for the Road Less Travelled column in The Hindu and specialised in personality profiles that gave her a new identity. A recipient of the Laadli Media Awards for Gender Sensitivity, the SCARF National Award for mental health reporting, and other regional awards, Soma writes on a gamut of topics including health, environment, education, archaeology, social issues to books, lifestyle, food and travel.
