20disease.%20Typically,%20broad%20spectrum%20antibiotics%20are%20given%20to%20cats%20with%20aortic%20stenosis%20due%20to%20the%20increased%20risk%20of%20developing%20bacterial%20infections%20in%20the%20heart.%20Living%20and%20Management%20The%20overall%20goal%20for%20you%20and%20the%20veterinarian%20is%20to%20minimize%20the%20cat's%20symptoms,%20prevent%20complications,%20and%20improve%20its%20quality%20of%20life.%20Activity%20should%20be%20immediately%20restricted%20to%20prevent%20complications%20(sometimes%20fatal)%20due%20to%20overexertion.%20Low%20sodium%20diets%20will%20also%20be%20recommended%20for%20cats%20with%20congestive%20heart%20failure.%20Affected%20animals%20shouldn%5Cu2019t%20allow%20breeding%20or%20preferably%20neutered.%20You%5Cu2019ll%20need%20to%20closely%20watch%20your%20cat%20at%20home%20for%20abnormal%20signs%20and%20inform%20the%20veterinarian%20immediately%20if%20and%20when%20they%20occur.%20Cats%20with%20mild%20forms%20of%20aortic%20stenosis%20may%20live%20a%20%5Cu201cnormal%5Cu201d%20lifespan%20without%20any%20treatment.%20However,%20those%20with%20severe%20forms%20of%20the%20defect%20have%20a%20poor%20prognosis,%20even%20with%20treatment.%20Regardless%20of%20the%20severity,%20many%20veterinarians%20will%20recommend%20against%20breeding%20an%20animal%20with%20this%20heart%20defect.%22%7D){kind=logo}
