y%20bacterial%20infections.%20Hydrotherapy%20and%20frequent%20bathing%20in%20antibacterial%20shampoos%20minimize%20secondary%20problems.%20If%20lesions%20are%20extensive,%20serum%20calcium%20levels%20should%20be%20monitored%20closely%20Calcinosis%20circumscripta:%20surgical%20excision%20is%20the%20therapy%20of%20choice%20in%20most%20cases%20Sterile%20panniculitis:%20single%20lesions%20can%20be%20removed%20surgically%20Nodular%20dermatofibrosis:%20no%20therapy%20for%20most%20cases,%20because%20the%20cystadenocarcinomas%20are%20usually%20bilateral%20For%20the%20rare%20unilateral%20case%20of%20cystadenocarcinoma%20or%20a%20cystadenoma,%20removal%20of%20the%20single%20affected%20kidney%20may%20be%20helpful%20Cutaneous%20xanthoma:%20correction%20of%20the%20underlying%20diabetes%20mellitus%20or%20hyperlipoproteinemia%20is%20usually%20curativeLiving%20and%20Management%20Your%20veterinarian%20will%20prescribe%20medication%20dependent%20upon%20your%20cat's%20diagnosis%20and%20condition.%20Bloodwork%20and%20a%20urinalysis%20will%20need%20to%20be%20performed%20every%20six%20months%20if%20your%20cat%20is%20taking%20long-term%20glucocorticoids.%20If%20your%20cat%20is%20taking%20dimethylsulfoxide%20for%20calcinosis%20cutis,%20bloodwork%20should%20be%20performed%20every%201-2%20weeks%20to%20monitor%20calcium%20levels%20until%20they%20are%20regulated.%22%7D){kind=logo}
